It’s all about developing the right culture
I have been with Everon since February 2024 first focused on Finland and now the UK and Sweden too. I’m responsible for developing the people and culture function of the business, including talent acquisition across Everon Group.
That includes making sure we have the same processes, support and guidelines in place for our employees across all three countries in which we operate – from onboarding staff to recruitment, staff development to internal communications.
Keeping it simple for a happier global workforce
We recently launched a new HR system at Everon Group that employees, wherever they are located can access. I’m not the kind of HR person who wants to add to the burden of our employees. Their focus is on delivering for the benefit of our customers. Our aim is to make things simpler and more transparent, so employees are happy, skilled and motivated.
If people like to work at Everon Group, someone else will hear that. We want to attract the best people to work with us. People who see us as a good employer and a good place to build their career. How we treat our employees also reflects on us as a business, including how positively our customers see us.
Communication is key to bringing people together
There has been a lot of change as we evolve as a business. It has been important to communicate and update as much as we can so that people understand the journey that we’re on and the benefits this will bring.
I worked as a geologist and still love it as a hobby
I have worked within HR for nine years before joining Everon, as well as working in the IT sector. Before that, I worked as a geologist in the public sector and at the Geological Survey of Finland.
I’ve always loved being in nature looking and thinking about how this landscape formed like millions of years ago. Even though it’s not my job anymore, I enjoy spending time in nature and thinking about geology-related things in my free time.
Helping people to feel valued for what they do
From my first job in a post office while I was a student, I have always thought about how workplaces have been led and how businesses treat their employees. In the long run that may be the reason why I changed career so that I could influence my workplace in a positive way and help people to feel valued for what they do, while also having a positive impact on the business.
We want customers to recognise the values we follow
We are a platform company and a health tech company in a sector that moves forward very quickly where it is possible to learn new things all the time and that can have a real positive impact on people’s lives.
We want to foster a culture where people are curious and want to learn more, but also to ask ‘Why?’ So, if something is not working, it’s okay to raise your hand and say, ‘Could we do this differently?’ ‘How can we make a difference with people receiving care in terms of their quality of life?’
Trust and honesty are the baseline for our staff in the same way that we want to be a seen as a trusted partner to our customers. It’s these values that we adopt internally that we want our customers to notice when we work with them.
