Resident safety was assured over Christmas as a Top UK Housing Association commissioned Everon to rapidly deploy their wireless Cloud-based Lyra Assisted Living solution to replace an ageing analogue warden call system that suffered irreparable critical failure.

A catastrophic event caused external power failure at a hard wired alarm call scheme system causing total system failure in the run up to Christmas 2020. Rather than install temporary dispersed alarms into each of the 20 properties, the Customer opted to install the latest wireless Cloud-based Lyra Assisted Living solution. Installation and commissioning of the Everon Origon units was completed, remotely programmed and brought on-line in less than ONE DAY to protect the vulnerable community, ensuring their safety over the Christmas period.

The site was due for upgrade when it suffered a critical outage so the units installed will be utilised in that upgrade without the need to remove them again, saving considerable re-installation costs. Everon Lyra, a pioneering cloud-based wireless system, can be rapidly installed and deployed, drastically reducing the installation time and high labour costs associated with traditional wired infrastructures.

The standards-led solution is simple, robust, quick to install and ideal for independent living, supported housing, extra care and registered care environment grouped communications.

They see great advantages from having a single solution across different care segments. Everon’s solution is to be installed in the entire LA during the first quarter of 2021.

”We now move to more secure solutions compared to the legacy analogue solutions we previously had. This is decisive for us but there are also other factors. We can now get a much better overview than ever before.”, says developer Michael Stiglund at the office for social care in Skellefteå.

With the extensive solution that we at Everon offer, Skellefteå’s local authority is looking forward to having a much more flexible solution and they will now be able to add functionalities they know there has been demand for during some time already.

”We tear down artifical silos that we have had previously”, says Kenny Lundström, alert manager at the city of Skellefteå.

We at Everon are very pleased that Skellefteå chose us. We warmly welcome Skellefteå into the Everon family!

Special Services include Telecare Alarm Systems

BT Consumer has contacted the Telecare industry advising that from September 2020, Special Service customers, including those with Telecare alarm systems, will now be included as part of the nationwide All IP/Digital Voice transfer. Until now, these Special Services had been left out of the trials and exchange updates. They are now being included and Service Providers can expect to see some impact on PSTN services as a result of this. BT will be contacting these customers, asking them to contact their Service Providers to see what alternative plans they have, to move their systems to digital.
