Hft, a national charity providing services for people with learning disabilities, has partnered with leading digital grouped living provider Everon to develop personalised care tech solutions fit for the future. The new system has meant it is possible to log into the system remotely to see the history and outcomes of any alerts, enabling staff to build patterns of behaviour to enhance care and support for individuals.
Hft has pioneered the use of personalised technology for the last two decades and because of the impending digital switch-over in 2025, had been looking for organisations capable of meeting its specific requirements. Having a digital-enabled infrastructure for the future is key both operationally and in order to better support individuals.
Everon was found to be the ideal solution that was technically robust enough to meet Hft’s digital needs and, together, Everon and Hft designed technology packages to create the best fit for both staff and the people being supported.
Melanie Corish, Chief Strategy, Transformation and Innovation Officer, Hft said:
“As part of our digital transformation, Hft is keen to implement a digital-enabled infrastructure that will be fit for the future and enable us to provide the most effective support and best possible outcomes for individuals.”
Emma Nichols, Personalised Technology Manager at Hft, commented: “We are always looking for new and innovative ways that technology can enhance care for the people we support. The shift to digital creates more opportunities to deliver innovative care. Everon is a valuable tool to help support providers on their digital journey. We are really pleased with the flexibility and creativity of the Everon system.”
New digital lines have already started to be installed at some of Hft’s services, an important step forward because the traditional analogue call systems and some of the technology on the market is not robust enough and doesn’t meet Hft’s full requirements.
Pete Kerly, Managing Director at Everon, added:
“Everon’s mission is to deliver innovative and trusted digital living solutions that enhance people’s lives and we designed a solution that has multiple benefits for Hft. As well as being simple, cost effective, cable-free and easy to deploy, we were also able to tick all Hft’s boxes for a personalised solution which didn’t rely on additional DECT phones, as staff answer the alerts on the app via their mobile phone. In addition, Hft has been able to access and analyse data remotely, giving a comprehensive insight of the calls received, who dealt with the issue and the outcome, enabling analysis of trends and patterns in order to enhance care for individuals.”
Some great feedback has been received from staff teams
- The technology has enabled the people we support to learn new tasks and be more independent in their home.
- We feel more reassured by having the technology in place and it is another tool to help support individuals.
- It enables us to give support when they require it rather than being on hand just in case, thus enabling the quality of support and spending time with those who need it.
